The Legal Industry Council of IFMA strives to enhance the value of IFMA membership for facility professionals working within the legal industry.
The Council offers members the opportunity to network, share information and discuss the unique challenges of the high profile legal office environment. The Council’s online tools keep you connected 24/7 to facility management issues in the legal industry, enabling you to join discussions on topics like space planning and utilization, creative office services, outsourcing, regulatory information, emerging technology and software solutions.
The Legal Industry Council welcomes IFMA professional members who work in law firms or the legal departments of corporations, government agencies and academic institutions.
Established in 1991, the LIC has approximately 100 members worldwide. LIC members represent some of the top legal firms in the business, including many firms listed on AmLaw 100.
Current LIC President Katherine Long and Past President Phyllis Medler attended IFMA’s Facility Fusion 2026 in San Francisco. The conference highlighted emerging industry trends—with a strong emphasis on the growing role of AI—and provided practical, actionable insights for workplace planning and facilities management. The expo floor showcased a wide range of new and innovative vendors, offering fresh perspectives and solutions. Facility Fusion 2027 will be held in Louisiana and promises to be just as dynamic.
